Dynamic visual functions assessment and training in juniors training game sports
Pecková, Natalie ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Kolář, Jáchym (referee)
The term neurovisual training describes procedures that improve an individual's visual- cognitive skills. In this thesis, we tried to characterize selected visual-cognitive skills, unify examination procedures and find possibilities for their training. In the theoretical part, you can find a list of conventional and software tools used for this purpose. In the appendices we describe specific exercises with selected tools. In the practical part, we put together training aimed at selected parameters and tested its effect on a group of junior volleyball players. Methodology: We established seven parameters that we monitored as part of input and output measurements. The examination can be divided into the static part, which was carried out by a qualified optometrist, and the dynamic part using the Senaptec Sensory Station under the guidance of a trained physiotherapist. Of the original 31 probands participating in input measurement, only 18 participated in output measurement. They were volleyball players from two Prague clubs with an average age of around 13 years. Probands were randomly assigned to an intervention and control group. The intervention group underwent three months of neurovisual training in a common part of conventional training at a frequency of one per week with the addition of...
Cognitive training as a part of physiotherapy for patiens after stroke.
ZACHAŘOVÁ, Judita
The topic of my bachelor thesis is "Cognitive training as a part of physiotherapy for patiens after stroke". Stroke is a serious neurological disease, that is characterized by high percentages of invalidity and also mortality. It is caused by a vascular disorder and it is characterized by specific symptoms. A big part of population suffer from this disease and it is also common among the younger ones. The main goal of this thesis was to describe the problem of stroke and also the problem of its influence on cognitive functions. Another goal was to suggest, implement and evaluate physiotherapeutic procedures with elements of cognitive training used in selected patients. The theoretical part contains a description of stroke problems with its manifestations, impacts and treatment possibilities of this disease. Subsequently the possibilities of individual cognitive functions, cognitive deficit, treatment, cognitive training and rehabilitation together with motor-cognitive training and testing are described. The practical part was made by qualitative research, which was performed on three patients after stroke with cognitive deficit, who were hospitalized at the Rehabilitation Department of Hospital České Budějovice a.s. The research included kinesiological and neurological analysis and testing of cognitive functions. According to obtained results an individual short-term and long-term rehabilitation plan was made for the patients. Physiotherapy with elements of cognitive training lasted for two weeks at the department. The therapy was successful for all patients and showed an improvement in motor functions in affected limbs and in walking stereotype. Cognitive functions also showed an improvement according to the results of the Mini-Mental State Examination.
Efficiency of working memory training
Milichovská, Petra ; Páchová, Anna (advisor) ; Pavelková, Isabella (referee)
This thesis concentrates on verification of efficiency of the program NBack Campaign, destined for working memory training, and continues the evaluation of the author of the program Anna Páchová. Our research has continued in the tradition of the evaluation of programs destined for training of cognitive functions. We have decided to use design pretest, training part and retest in our research. Based on the analyse of literature we concluded, that the research of working memory of children at the age between 10 and 18 years is peripheral issue and appears just in studies of the development of working memory. For this reason we decided to include 26 children from eight-year grammar school. We wanted to check, how they would respond on the programm and how the training would affect them. Our research was realized during three months and the research sample was reduced during that time. Following analysis of collected data has confirmed the statistically important shift in tasks children have trained in. Transfer into other tasks has not been shown. That is why we have decided to devote our time to individual pupils and their special characteristics. Another aim is to prepare instructions for every game and to assign the area of cognitive functions that is trained in the game. The thesis is...
A design of software applicable in occupational therapy A design, realization and evaluation of a PC program for shopping practice for people with cognitive deficits
Rohlenová, Eva ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
The main goal of this thesis was to design a computer program applicable in occupational therapy in cognitive rehabilitation. I designed a PC program focused on shopping practice. Its main advantages are: the absence of any charges, the possibility of using it on an ordinary PC and the accessibility via the Internet. The designed program, named Trénink nakupování (~Shopping training), had been implemented in a beta version. Afterwards, it was tested and evaluated with a questionnaire by five stroke patients. The results show that all patients evaluated the program very positively and they believe in its benefits for the rehabilitation. The theoretical part describes cognitive training and shopping from the perspective of an occupational therapist. Four PC training programs focused on shopping training are described. Other sections provide detailed information about the designed program. The practical part consists of testing, the evaluation of questionnaires and suggesting ways to improve the program in the future. Key words: cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive training, iADL, shopping, program design, computer-assisted training, PC program, brain injury Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Impact of a cognitive function therapy on people with dementia
Nová, Jarmila ; Krivošíková, Mária (advisor) ; Piťhová, Zuzana (referee)
This thesis occupies with a cognitive training efficiency with a focus on memory and attention of dementia diagnosed people, especially people with vascular dementia, mixed dementia or Alzheimer's disease. The theoretical part deals with dementia issues and current knowledge on the field of a cognitive and occupational therapy. The main empirical part goal is a determination of the cognitive training by dementia diagnosed people. The next goal is to find out, how much clients are satisfied with the cognitive function therapy. The cognitive function training is made within a period of 8 weeks in social institutions in Jirkov and Chomutov. The research sample is consisted of 24 clients (at the age of 65 and more) with diagnosed Alzheimer's disease, vascular or mixed dementia, they were divided into an experimental and comparative group. Clients are evaluated before the intervention and after the intervention using Mini-Mental Examination test (MMSE), Trail Making test, part A (TMT:A and Swwartz scale of the therapy evaluation (SOS-10). Statistically significant results of set significance rate (p < 0,05) were found by the test MMSE (0,01 < 0,05) and scale SOS-10 (0,02 < 0,05), but the test TMT:A (0,09 > 0,05) hasn't confirmed therapy efficiency from the reason of the small research sample. Those...
